About Us

For the Culturally Curious

SoLA, or the Society of Luxury Artisanship, reimagines how we engage with fashion and objects — inviting you into a space where design, craft, and cultural context are inseparable.

Located on Bawe Island, a privately owned retreat just off the coast of Zanzibar, SoLA is a destination for considered discovery. Created in 2025 by the team behind Industrie Africa, it is the brand’s flagship project: a physical expression of its curatorial perspective, shaped by provenance and purpose.

Inside, a tightly edited collection of ready-to-wear, sculptural accessories, and lifestyle artifacts comes into view — sourced from across Africa and beyond. From indigo-dyed cloth in Nigeria to hand-thrown ceramics in Morocco and bold weaves from Colombia’s Caribbean coast, each piece is chosen for its story: the imprint of the maker, the quality of its materials, and a sense of where it comes from.

Though global in scope, SoLA’s pe rspective is grounded in its island setting. The curation draws from Zanzibar’s rich identity — one of coastal traditions, visual storytelling, and authentic artistry. At its core is a commitment to Africa’s design community, alongside international labels t hat share a deep respect for process and point of view.

Born of an island, shaped by a continent, and attuned to a global eye — SoLA lives in the in-between.
